There are no specific references to the origin of the jump like equestrian sports, but in the second half of the eighteenth century horse jumping was an essential part of the sport of hunting. It is from this era when improved breeds of horses, getting more physical ability and allowing gallop and jump in speed, which was the basis for the modern show jumping.
In some documents it is clear that the birth of the Grand Prix competitions took place in Paris in 1866. In 1906 equestrian sports were proposed to be added to the Olympic Games, which occurred in 1912, and by the 1944 Games in Paris, registered 99 riders from 17 countries.
