The Will Smith start-up

Interestingly, Smith started off in a field that then was far from the world of television and movies. Unlike today, when many musicians and pop stars move into Hollywood to make it as movie stars, some more successfully and some less, Will Smith started as half of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince together with his friend from childhood Jeffrey Townes as DJ Jazzy Jeff. (They also appeared with Clarence Holmes as Ready Rock C who was the human beat box. Amazingly, Will Smith has moved into acting on the big screen, yet he is still active and renowned as a rapper and hip-hop artist.
